Hello all! I wanted to share days 6-9 of my 29 Days of Love Mini with you. I have a bunch more pages that are almost done, just need some finishing touches. I am following along with Alissa Fast, and using her prompts. I have the pages loose now, but will be binding them with my Bind-it-all when I am finished.

Day 6 - My Favorite Place...how could I choose just one??!!

Day 7 - Someone Far Away...My folks.

Day 8 - Someone I spend time with....My little guy Jameson.

Day 9 - Something I Drink...How could I survive without my coffee?!

29 Days of LOVE..

Hello All,

I wanted to share a project I am currently working on. Last year I pinned a super cute mini book from Alissa Fast's blog. It was her 28 Days of Love Mini. I love the idea and hoped she would do it again this year. Well, guess what? She is! See her blog about this years book here. I am loving all of the prompts she posts every day, and I appreciate that she does it in the morning so I have the entire day to either take the photo or think of what I am going to use. Below are pages 1, 3, 4, and 5. I am still working on page 2. I have it done, but I am not happy with it.

Day 1 - Something you love to do.....I love to teach.

Day 3 - Today I love the weather....I love it when it snows!

Day 4 - Today I love something given to me.....I LOVE my engagement ring from my hubby.

Day 5 - Today I love someone I take photos of.....I could not choose one! I love taking photos of my little guys!

September TrailMakers Debut

Can you believe it is already September? Where did the summer go?! Well, it's a new month and that means a new set of amazing projects over at the TrailMakers Blog. Hello Blog friends! I just wanted to share a layout with you that I did this week for Sketch Inspiration. This week the Paper Trail Store is sponsoring their prize and we were given the opportunity to create using their sketch. You know I love a good sketch!

Here is the layout I created. I used a photo I took of my sister and her hubby on the beach on their wedding day. I used some fantastic ruched paper to add some texture and some pretty handmade flowers. I did not have and yellow fabric that I liked so I took some white fabric and sprayed it with some glimmer mist, I love the way it came out. I also added some paper tape and bling.

Sketchy Thursdays September Guest DT Challenge

Hello! I wanted to share a layout I created for the Sketchy Thursdays September Guest DT challenge. The challenge was to use the sketch below, and to also theme the LO around reading. I chose the children's book 'Love You Forever' by Robert Munsch. The cover of the book is mostly blue so I thought the bits and pieces I had left from LYB's Twig collection were perfect. The hearts are cut out of the kraft base and I put the paper behind to show through. I love these photos of my son, love those cheeks!!

The journaling is the song from the book:

"I'll love you forever

I'll like you for always

as long as I'm living

my baby you'll be."

Hello TrailMakers! The first challenge here on the blog was to make a birthday card out of non-birthday paper. When I received the product Karen sent from the Paper Trail Store I had two paper collections to choose from. I chose to use Basic Grey's 'Out of Print' collection because I love the colors and thought it would make a nice "girly" birthday card. I used a punch, and some distress ink to create the background, and then used some of the 'Out of Print' Pop Ups and alphas, and added ribbon from my stash to finish the card.

TrailMakers Debut and an obsession...

Hello! I am so excited to share my very first TrailMakers Challenge Blog design team project with you. The TaDa papers I used for this layout had a smaller pattern on one side and a large circular pattern one the other. I decided to go with the circle theme for the entire LO. I used my circle punch and then sewed the circles in rows. I cut a portion of the large circle pattern out and used it as the base for my photo. I added some sparkle with the gradient brads and letters, and a bit of glimmer mist. There are some great challenges this month at TrailMakers, and some amazing DT inspiration! The photo is one of my favorite of my little guy...gotta love that adorable face and smile!!

Hello! Wanted to share a LO I did for the Sketchy Thursdays August GDT. To enter I had to use the sketch, scrap a summer topic, use the colors red, orange, and/or yellow, and include journaling. Here is what I came up with:

The colors were perfect in my Jillibean Soup papers, and I snuck a red heart in on the journaling. The topic may not be one from everone's summer, but was a very important one from ours. It is Jackson's first real hair cut. He did so great, and I wanted to document it on a LO.

Hello all! Hope your weekend is going great. I was able to get quite a bit of scrapping done in the last few days, and I wanted to share a layout I did for Sketchy Thursdays. I have been a follower of their blog forever, love their sketches, but never entered one of their challenges...until now! I love this sketch! I changed it a bit, and I love the way the LO turned out!

This is my son Jackson, he is almost 18 months old, so really this is his first summer fun experience. He had a blast on this day playing in the water, and having his first ever popsicle!

Hello blog friends! I wanted to share a shadow box that I did for my LSS, Stacy's Scrap Shack. I used the pet collection of papers and embellishments from Queen and Co. When I saw the papers I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I made a "tribute box" for our dog Peyton, who passed away in 2009. This is my very favorite photo of her. Sweet Little Tags

Hello! Today I thought I would make something a little different...for me anyways. I made this sweet little set of gift tags. I wanted to use up some ribbon scraps, what a perfect way! I have a huge jar of ribbon scraps on my craft desk just waiting to be used up. I cut the tags using my cricut, then I printed a sentiment on each. After that I went to town with the ribbon. I think these will be a cute addition to any little gift!

Happy Friday! I wanted to share a frame that I made for the anything goes challenge at TrailMakers. I used the TrailMakers Fabulous June kit, if you have not gotten one yet be sure to hop on over to the shop and get one! It is full of great Bo Bunny papers, just perfect for my frame. Once again you will notice a lot of fussy cutting! There were such great designs on the papers, I wanted to show them off. I also love the little embellishments that came in the kit, here I used a clip and a fancy button.

Thinking of you card

I just wanted to share a card that I made for the Paper TrailMakers Anything Goes Challenge. I am loving the colors in this card, light blue and grey. I did some zig zag machine stitching around the card and through the center. I also handmade some little felt flowers and colored a stick pin to match. I am so pleased with the way the card turned out!

Well, here it is, the last of the Father's Day cards. I have all of mine finished...do you? I have seen those super cute cards that are a dress shirt with a tie, but I only ever seen my hubby wear a tie a handful of times. He is an out doorsy kinda guy... a flannel guy! I love this card, it holds a gift card in the little pocket and is hand stitched using my not so easy to use sew easy. (That's a whole different blog post!)

Happy Friday!! I wanted to share a Father's Day card I created using some Bo Bunny scraps I had. I love the way I see stitching used in LO's and cards, and want to try and do it more often. On this card I machine stitched the ribbon and also used a faux stitching technique from the amazing Julie Bonner here. I used some vintage buttons that I found in my Nana's sewing stash.

TrailMakers Challenge - Masculine Card

Hello! I wanted to share the card I made for the TrailMakers blog where I am the GDT this month. We got to use some of the beautiful Bo Bunny Timepiece papers. These papers have such beautiful intricate designs...and you what that means?? LOTS of fussy cutting! I fussy cut pieces on each of my projects this month. Sometimes it can be quite tedious, but it is like having built in coordinating embellishments!

Everything used on this card can be found in the wonderful June TrailMakers kit. I made a base out of cardstock, then made another layer with some of the Bo Bunny paper. I layered my embellies, which included a fussy cut clock and cardstock sticker, added some sheer ribbon and rhinestones and voila!

Summer Means...

Two posts in one day?! Wowzas! I am on a LO roll this weekend!! I created this LO for the Trail Makers blog challenge, use paint and create a flower. I used some acrylic paint on the base page, then layered on top of it. I love the unusual color combo, peaches and grey.

One of my favorite things about summer is walking barefoot and feeling the grass on my toes. This year my son Jackson is walking so we got to experience it together. Aren't his little toes cute?!

Good Morning! I wanted to share a LO I did for the PageMaps My Little Shoebox contest. I stuck pretty true to the sketch with this one. I love the bright cheery colors of Crate's Neighborhood collection, went perfectly with my bright cheery pictures!

When I saw the sketch I knew immediately what pictures I wanted to use. These pics are when we went to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. We had a great time, and the weather was beautiful! Jackson loved the flowers. There were so many that the fields seemed to go on forever!

I have never done a layout like this before, and I gotta say I really like the way it turned out. I even have some hidden journaling on the tag behind the picture. I also did some masking wth glimmer mist. I was not so sure what to do with the flower at first, but I worked with it a little and it looks great. I love the pop of color it gives the LO!

I am so excited and honored to be this weeks guest designer at Frosted Designs. This weeks Fabulous Friday Challenge is ribbon or twine. I use ribbon on my layouts pretty often, so I wanted to think of a way that I could use it that I did not use everyday. I really wanted to challenge myself, I mean it's called a challenge for a reason right?! I had seen some weaving done with strips of paper that were about the same size as this ribbon and thought I would give it a try. I chose to use two patterned ribbons and three solid color ribbons. I knew I wanted to use a patterned paper and I did not want to overwhelm the LO. It was a little trickier than I thought it would be, but once I got it down it worked well. I finished my LO with some accordion flowers, a stick pin, and some letters. I love the way the LO turned out, and I have to say it is one of my favorite to date.

Hello Blog World! I wanted to share a super cute frame that I made for my mom as a Mother's Day gift. I got this idea over at the Lucky Girl Crafts Blog where they are having a Friday Fun Day Challenge that goes until the end of the month. I am also entering this in a challenge over at Frosted Designs, Flowers. I love the colors because chartreuse happens to be one of my faves right now! Girl or Boy?

Hello All! I wanted to share a LO I did for Scrap that Baby. The challenge is ultrasounds, and let me tell you I have had plenty of those in the last two years! With both of my pregnancies my husband and I chose not to find out the sex of the baby ahead of time. I wanted to do a LO that depicted this, so I thought I would scrap half of the page girlie and the other half boyish. I also wanted the two halves to mirror each other. I really like the way it turned out!

New Favorite color combo...

...has to be gray, chartreuse, and white. Maybe throw in a bit of pink. I love it, my sons have many outfits with this color combo (minus the pink) and they are my favorites. I wanted to use these colors in a project, and I started with this card. This card was made for the current challenge over at Frosted Designs, use a bird or butterfly on your project.

The polka dot butterflies are stamped and embossed and then I inked them and wiped with a tissue.

Next is a card I made. I have seen a lot of umbrellas being used with Springtime, so I decided to give it a try. I used some glossy accents to make raindrops.

Silly Boy

Hello,

I have another post of a LO I finished this weekend. This one is also my son, using some pictures taken when he was almost 12 months old. They were taken in the woods behind our house by my awesome (soon to be) brother in law, who is a photographer. You can check out his blog, Dan Mooney (dot) come here. I loved all the pics that he took that day, and hope to scrap more of them. I used a sketch from the Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays April 5th Challenge, and will be entering it in the Fabulous Friday Challenge, Brads, as well.
I really wanted to stick close to the sketch so I tried to use a more masculine looking flower. I used some spray mist in place of the dots on the sketch. I am really happy with how it came out.

Sweet Baby Boy LO

Hello,

I wanted to share a layout I finished up this weekend using a older pic of my son. It was taken in the studio by our wonderful wedding photographer, Jennifer Lewis. I made this LO for The Paper Trail Makers challenge, inspired by their blog banner. I used the shape of their logo, ribbon, and polka dots. I really like how simple it is because I really wanted the focus to be on the picture.

A Couple of Cards

Happy Wednesday!! I wanted to post a couple of blank cards I made. I love the, they are so simple, and quite easy to make. I really love the way kraft paper looks so I have been using it a lot in my projects. I did not put a sediment on them, but I could easily add one as needed.

Hello! This weeks challenge over at Frosted Designs was to reuse or re-purpose something you had around the house. I chose to make a shadow box from a make-up box. I have a bunch of these boxes, and I knew I would find a use for them eventually.

Box I started with:

First I took the cover off of the box.

Then after choosing my paper I used Modge Podge to attach it to the box.

I let it dry over night, then attached the items inside. And the beautiful finished product:

Oh how I loved making this layout! So much pink, and so much girliness it was a lot of fun. I got a new punch...can you guess what it is?! I also tried out some glimmer mist, and I love it! I am for sure gonna get more colors. For this LO I used some paper doilies as masks and sprayed over them. I also put down some chipboard butterflies. I love the way it came out.

The photo in this LO is my sister. I love this picture of her. Funny thing is I had the LO in mind before I had a pic to go on it. I had to go through all my pics to find the right one for this LO. The wonderful sketch is by Amarilys over at The Paper Trail Makers blog.

Snow Cute

Hello! I was able to complete a layout today that I really like a lot. Do you ever take photos and instantly think that they would be great to scrap, and you can't wait to do so? Well that is what I thought when I saw this series of pictures of my son. This was his second time in the snow...the first did not go as well. He had a wonderful time exploring and playing in the snow.

I did this LO for three challenges. I saw the sketch at Frosted Designs and I knew if was perfect for these pictures. I am also submitting it for the Paper Trail Makers challenge, One Two, THREE. Use three pictures and have the number three somewhere on your layout. Can you find my three? Over at Clear It Out Challenge, they want to see us use buttons.

I love the Fancy Pants papers I used for this LO. I knew I wanted something snow related, but not the usual blue and white. These were perfect! I also had fun making my little embellies!

Oh Happy Day!

Hello! Can you tell now that I am getting caught up with all of my posts and projects that I want to post?! Today I wanted to share a two page layout that I did with some wedding pictures. I did this for a scrapbook store here in my hometown. I was asked you use the new Pebbles Mr. & Mrs. collection. I loved the papers, and I really like the way that this layout came out. I handmade all of the flowers, and sort of gave it a distressed look around the edges and by crumpling the layers of paper. I also pleated some ribbon with the sewing machine to add some color and texture. I did not want the layout to look perfect, not too clean and I think that the crumpled paper and pleated ribbon achieved this. Thanks for taking a peek!

Be Mine - Spoolie Album

Hello! I wanted to share an altered album that I made for my mom a while back but did not have time to post. This is my first "spoolie", an album made from an empty ribbon spool. C'mon, you know you have a few of those lying around your craft room! I got my inspiration here. I used some of my favorite pics of Jackson, some I knew "Nana" would like. It was a Valentines Day Gift, so I used up a bunch of red and black scraps I had. I used a few little embellies, but not too many because I did not want the "pages" to be sticking out of the spool. So cute, I already have an idea for my next one!!

Hello! Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations! Below is the first layout I have created using pictures from my son's first birthday. I just love how this turned out. I am really into paper pleating...can you tell? I am trying to use sewing in my layouts more often. I also finally got a heat tool, so I did some embossing on the stars. It was really a challenge for me to use more than one print when I first started papercrafting...so to make a layout with only one kind of plain cardstock is a huge feat for me! I have come a long way! Hope you enjoy this layout as much as I did making it!

Faces of You

TGIF!! Got any big plans for the weekend? I know I want to get some good crafting time in this weekend, but we will see if that happens!

Below is a layout that I created of my son. I had seen layouts that had blocks like this and really wanted to try it. I have a ton of orange paper around because it was the main color of my son's birthday party, so I decided to us it. I love the photos too, they are some of my favorite so far of my little guy. The pics were taken by my son to be brother in law, who is an amazing photographer. We took the pictures in the woods, and just captured him in all of his silliness.

Happy Wednesday! Can you believe it is already March?! It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating Christmas! I guess time flies when you are super busy huh?

Below is a card I created for some challenges this week. (Listed below the card) I love the colors in the patterned paper by Basic Grey. I also tried something new with this card, this is only the second time I have attempted sewing on a card. I have to admit it does not look too bad. I really like using sewing on cards and layouts and would like to improve my paper sewing skills. I wanted the card to be clean and simple, and I think I accomplished that here.

Hello! I wanted to post a layout I created using a sketch from Frosted Designs. I decided to use some of our wedding pictures I had laying around. I also have a lot of pink and black scraps to use up from some of our handmade wedding goodies, so I used that as my color palette. I love doing anything with our wedding pics they are so beautiful, our photographer Jen was and still is amazing!

My favorite part of of the layout are the flowers. The light pink flowers are made from a shimmer tulle, and the bright pink flowers are made from satin ribbon. The ribbon is leftover from my wedding bouquet. I love the frayed edges of the flowers.

I took last week off from making cards to work on some scrapbook layouts. I am hoping to get them posted soon, I am having a ton of fun doing them. Scrapbooking is like card making on a larger scale. This is the card I made for the challenges this week. I am learning that you can make just one card and enter it in numerous challenges. The challenge for me is going to all the blogs to see what the challenges are!

I had fun this week, I made a super duper pink card. I am experimenting with making some different varieties of flowers. I looked at a tutorial at Frosted Designs that gave me the inspiration for the flower on this card.

I was not due until tomorrow, but Jameson decided to make his grand entrance on January 9th. We are so blessed that he was healthy, as he did arrive 5 weeks early. Clippies

I think it is funny that my first two blog posts don't involve papercrafting at all. I have been making some super cute hair clippies for friends lately and wanted to share them. They are really fun to make, and I enjoy working with ribbon. Here are a few that I have made:

Items I used for this project were:

Scissors
Ribbon
Buttons and embellishments
Alligator clips
Hot glue gun
Non-slip shelf liner
Needle
Thread or embroidery floss

I have a lot of ribbon so I just used some coordinating colors. I had buttons that I wanted to match the ribbon to.

I use two different sizes of alligator clips. A mini size and a regular size. I ordered some from www.hair-hardware.com and was very pleased with their service and product.

I covered the alligator clips with ribbon using the glue gun. I start with a drop of glue on the inside top and work my way around the clip. You will have to work quickly, the glue will harden very fast and you will not want all the lumps under your ribbon.

Don't forget to heat seal the ends of your ribbon otherwise it will fray!

Attach the ribbon and embellishments you want to the covered clippie with the glue gun or thread and needle.

As you can see I have attached a very small piece of non-slip liner to the top of the clippie. This will hold the clippie in place so it does not slip out of hair.

Voila! A perfectly cute hair clippie!

Fancy Feet!

One of my good friends was coming to visit us this past June, and I wanted to have some cute little goodies to give her twin daughters. I made them both enormous pink tutus, and these super cute flip flops. Why am I just now publishing this you ask? Because it took me 6 months to finish the second pair!! I wanted to get them in the mail for their birthday in January. I loved this project, but I think I have come to the realization that I do not really like working with fabric. I much prefer working with paper. I love these and hope the girls do too!

Items I used for this project were:

Pinking sheers
Tulle
Fabric
Flip Flops

I chose to use two different fabrics and one color of tulle. You can use as many as you want or just one if you chose. I cut the fabric into strips that were 1 inch in width and 7 inches in length. I ended up trimming the fabric once I was done, but it was much easier to work with the longer strips.

Ta-da! Finished product. Thank goodness they live in Florida and will be able to use them year round!
